• Continuing training through the Residential Workshop and the one-day seminars on specific subjects that are open to all ACE producers.
The producers’ completed projects and films generally provide a concrete basis for discussion during the diverse training activities. Industry professionals monitor these activities, with the emphasis on practice rather than theory.
These high-level forums of discussions serve to accompany the producers through all the stages of their professional lives – development, financing, co-production, recoupment, rights management and business strategy.
• Counselling on development : The ACE team, and its trainers, closely follow the development of the project brought to ACE that year (the ACE project), right up to the production and then with the national and international distribution of the film.
Concerned with individual needs, ACE also tracks the other projects being developed by its producers as these may occasionally require assistance in their development and financing.
• ACE’s participation in film festivals and markets creates the ideal environment in which to encourage networking within the industry at an international level, not only with other producers who share the desire to establish co-producing relationships but also with other industry professionals (distributors and sales agents) who may serve as potential partners on the projects in the future.
On top of these activities and services, ACE also offers the following to its members:
- the yearly edition of the active ACE Network Book, gathering contact details, company profile and projects in development of all active ACE producers;
- free or preferential accreditation or participation in various international festivals and markets;
- access to information regarding release dates, national box-office and international sales on their films upon request;
- access to a regularly updated database of international contacts;
- the promotion of their projects (films and companies) at international markets and festivals via mailings, newsletters, flyers and on-line updates (with the collaboration of www.cinando.com) on the ACE website;
- access to and use of the ACE office in Cannes;
- use of the ACE office for professional meetings while in Paris;
