APPLY FOR THE 2012 ACE COPRODUCTION LAB IN HONG KONG

In March 2012, ACE will hold its second ACE COPRODUCTION LAB IN HONG-KONG, during the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF).

The COPRODUCTION LAB IN HK is an exclusive 4-day project-based workshop that will gather European & Chinese professionals in Hong-Kong from 18th–22nd March 2012.

The Coproduction Lab in HK aims to develop the opportunities for artistic and financial cooperation between a selected group of 10 Chinese and 6 European producers with a team of influential industry professionals and key decision makers. It will help the participants to better understand their cultural differences and their working habits.
The Coproduction Lab in HK is targeted at experienced independent producers and will consist of case studies, marketplace presentations, pitching sessions, 1-to-1 meetings and networking events.

THE ACE NETWORK EXPANDS: 16 NEW EUROPEAN PRODUCERS SELECTED FOR THE ACE 21 TRAINING SESSION

This year again 16 feature film producers from 12 European countries have been selected to participate in the 21st ACE TRAINING SESSION, with a project in development, and have thus joined the ACE Network. The first workshop of the ACE 21 Session will take place this October at the Moulin d’Andé (Normandy, France).

DIGITAL PRODUCTION CHALLENGE / 24-26 NOVEMBER 2011

The European workshop on digital production workflows for producers, line producers, production managers and post-production supervisors takes place in Oslo from 24 to 26 November 2011.
Learn from experienced producers about different workflows and the pitfalls of digital production; present your projects and get advice; discuss 3D and digital distribution with your peers.

Registration is now open until 4 October 2011 at www.digiprodchallenge.net

BOGOTA AUDIOVISUAL MARKET (BAM) - July 13-15, 2011

The second annual Bogota Audiovisual Market (BAM) promoting Colombian films ready for release, feature projects currently in development (fiction and documentaries) and audiovisual production services on offer is scheduled to take place from July 13-15, 2011. Thirty-five Colombian production services, post-production, audio, equipment rental and digital animation companies attended the first BAM market last year that spotlighted 34 Colombian features in development and a sampling of some 26  films produced during the past two years. More than 90 international guests including producers, distributors, sales agents and television executives will be in Bogotá for this three-day event in July.

During the 14th edition of Cinéma du Québec in Paris, the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) will organize the 7th RENCONTRES DE COPRODUCTION FRANCOPHONE with the support of the Centre du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel de la Communauté française de Belgique and Wallonie Bruxelles Images, the Centre national du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée (CNC), the Luxemburg Film Fund, the Office Fédéral de la Culture Suisse and SwissFilms, the Studio L’Equipe, Téléfilm Canada, TV5 Monde, and with the particpation of EAVE.

Thanks to this collaboration, 3 days of workshops and meetings for French language co-productions will take place in Paris on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of November 2010.

The RENCONTRES DE COPRODUCTION FRANCOPHONE aim at developing co-productions and partnerships between producers, sales agents and distributors from Québec, Canada, France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Switzerland, and other European and Mediterranean countries, around French-language feature films in development and in post-production.

The CINEMART deadline for submitting projects is September 1st, 2010.

From January 26 to February 6 (2011), the 40th anniversary edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam will take place. During the festival, the 28th edition of the international co-production market CINEMART will be held from Sunday January 30 to Wednesday February 2.

Over the course of four days, CineMart will again present around 30 to 35 international projects of acclaimed directors and their younger talented colleagues to approximately 850 professionals from the international film industry, ranging from sales-agents, producers and distributors to television buyers and funding agencies.

THE CINEMART DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROJECTS IS SEPTEMBER 1st, 2010

From January 26 to February 6 (2011), the 40th anniversary edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam will take place. During the festival, the 28th edition of the international co-production market CineMart will be held from Sunday January 30 to Wednesday February 2. Over the course of four days, CineMart will again present around 30 to 35 international projects of acclaimed directors and their younger talented colleagues to approximately 850 professionals from the international film industry, ranging from sales-agents, producers and distributors to television buyers and funding agencies.

If you have any new projects in development that need additional financing, and for which you think CineMart would be an appropriate platform, send your projects to Cinemart before SEPTEMBER 1, 2010!

At CineMart 2010, Simon Pummell’s “Brand New-U” and at CineMart 2009 Lance Weiler’s project “HIM” were successfully presented in the official selection of CineMart. These trans media projects generated a lot of interest from the professionals that attended CineMart. That is why CineMart would like to continue this movement in 2011 and invite producers to apply with a cross/trans media project.

PRODUCTION FINANCE MARKET - CALL FOR PRODUCERS

The fourth Film London Production Finance Market (PFM) will be held Wednesday 20 – Thursday 21 October 2010.

The 2010 edition will bring more than 100 producers, financiers and new forms of investment together over a two-day period at the Hilton London Tower Bridge in the City of London. This year’s event has cross industry support from senior European producers and financiers, The BFI London Film Festival, UK Trade & Investment, the UK Film Council, and the EU’s MEDIA Programme.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm, Friday 9 July 2010.

In 2009, ACE opened its doors to non-EU independent producers by launching a new training session (ACE IPA), specially designed for them, thanks to the support of MEDIA International Preparatory Action.

You too want to benefit from all the advantages and services offered by the ACE IPA Programme?

A one-week Workshop in Europe in March 2010:
- 3 days in Paris: introduction to European film industry (financing, legal, tax schemes, international sales, distribution…),
- 5 days in Zürich (Switzerland): individual meetings with script doctors and financing experts on the selected project, a 1-day Co-Production Meeting and a 4-day Networking Reunion with roughly 40 European ACE producers.
An individual follow-up of the project (at distance), from March to December 2010.
A free access to all ACE events all through the year 2010.
The possibility to remain a member of the ACE Network (annual subscription: €700) offering you commercial, financial & legal information, access to the ACE gatherings and seminars as well as many unique opportunities to meet EU professionals.

APPLICATION DEADLINES!
-    7th November for Canada and New-Zealand,
-    23rd November for Mediterranean Countries, Balkans and Middle East,
-    10th December for Asia, Latin America, Australia and USA.

This call for proposals has been published at an earlier date with a different deadline in North America, Canada and New Zealand. Given the large number of applications, ACE cannot examine the dossiers received from the five continents simultaneously. However, in order to preserve equality between all countries, the final selection of participants will take place will take place in January 2010.

The 6e Rencontres de Coproduction Francophone will take place in Paris, from 7th to 9th December 2009.

This year, the Rencontres de Coproduction Francophone will aslso offer a pitching session and “Work in Progress” screenings.

CALL FOR PROJECTS / ARC 1950 CO-PRODUCTION VILLAGE

The first edition of the Les Arcs European Film Festival will take place from December 5-12, 2009 in Les Arcs ski resort (France).
The festival will present 50 feature films most of which haven’t been screened in France before. They will organize 120 screenings for a public of over 10.000 people.

In addition, they will organize The Arc 1950 Co-production Village (December 6-9), a great meeting place for film producers with co-producers, regional funds, distributors, sales agents… EUROPA DISTRIBUTION, D.I.R.E. (French Union of Independent Distributors) and CINE REGIO are partners of this event.

The Co-production Village has now launched its call for projects to European producers developing a European feature film.
You are a European Producer and you want to develop a feature film (fiction, animation or documentary) initiated in Europe (minimum length: 75 minutes).
Your project has to respect the following criteria:
•    the director is European and has already directed films (feature films or distinguished short films)
•    the project can be in development, in shooting or in post-production
•    25% of the budget are already secured
•    you are looking for European co-producers
•    you are looking for pre-sales, sales agent, or other financing sources in Europe (Tax Credit, Tax Shelter, European Regional Funds)
•    An already confirmed support (in development or in production) from a European regional fund is a plus.

The deadline for application is October 12, 2009.

Rotterdam CINEMART 2010 – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!

From January 27th to February 7th 2010, the 39th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) will take place. During the festival, the 27th edition of the INTERNATIONAL CO-PRODUCTION MARKET CINEMART will be held from Sunday 31st January to Wednesday 3rd February.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROJECTS: 1st SEPTEMBER 2009!

The CineMart is open for feature films with theatrical and international potential in all stages of production, from script to rough cut. A project should not have been presented at any other market or festival, except when linked to one of CineMart’s partnering organisations.

DUBAI FILM CONNECTION 2009 – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!

The third edition of the DUBAI FILM CONNECTION CO-PRODUCTION MARKET (DFC) will take place from 11-15 December 2009, during the 6th Dubai International Film Festival®.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR ARAB FILMMAKERS’ PROJECTS: 15th AUGUST 2009!

The DFC is open for documentary and feature film projects that are currently in development or works-in-progress where principal photography is completed and the project needs additional financing to finish. The projects must be from directors of Arab nationality or origin (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestinian Territories, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Comoros, Djibouti, Mauritania, Somalia and Sudan) with a producer attached. The producer can be of any nationality.

The DFC notably includes one-on-one meetings between the selected director/producer teams and key industry professionals, individualised meeting agendas, networking events and industry panels that enable all participants to have a productive experience.

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FINANCING FORUM - CALL FOR APPLICATIONS!

The INTERNATIONAL FINANCING FORUM (IFF) 2009, presented by Ontario Media Development Corporation, will take place on September 13, & 14, 2009 during Toronto International Film Festival®.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR INTERNATIONAL PRODUCERS: JULY 24, 2009!

Canadian and International feature film producers are invited to apply to participate in the IFF. Registration is free but competitive, with final selection to participate based on company track record and the suitability of projects.
Eligible applicants must have at a minimum, one producer credit on a theatrically released feature by a recognizable distributor, and a market oriented project in development that requires international co-production and/or financing partners.

Save your dates for the next edition of PARIS PROJECT, the co-production and development platform of the Paris Cinema International Film Festival: the 7th edition will take place from July 6 to 9, 2009!

The ambition of Paris Project is to bring together key players in the French and European film industry, around international production projects and films in post-production that are not yet finalised. In 2008, more than 220 professionals (24 countries represented) attended Paris Project and 350 meetings were scheduled.
