ACE NETWORK AT LES ARCS 2016

The 8th edition of les Arcs European Film Festival will take place from the 10th to 17th December 2016 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice/ Les Arcs (Savoie).  ACE is pleased to announce that among the official selections, 18 films have been produced or co-produced by ACE members. 3 projects selected at the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village and 5 works-in-progress are run by ACE producers. Congrats to all of our selected members!

LES ARCS 2016 CALL FOR PROJECTS

CO-PRODUCTION VILLAGE AT THE ARCS EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL: QUEBEC FOCUS IN 2016

Les Arcs European Film Festival, a major event for promotion, development and distribution of European cinema, has just launched its call for projects for its annual co-production platform, the Co-production Village. This year, the Co-Production Village will have a focus on Québec. The Co-production Village will host 20 European project representatives, who will have the chance to meet potential partners among 350 industry professionals, including co-producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, and so on. Les Arcs European Film Festival will take place from the 10th to the 17th of December 2016 and the Co-production Village from the 10th to the 13th of December 2016.

Les Arcs Coproduction Village includes two main events:

  • A selection of 20 European projects in development seeking coproducers and/or financiers
  • Deadline to submit a project - 7th October 2016. Submit your application here

  • A work-in-progress session, screening excerpts of 5-10 minutes from 15 European films in post-production

    PREFERENTIAL RATES FOR ACE PRODUCERS

    Les Arcs European Film Festival offers preferential rates to 2 ACE producers. The producers selected will benefit from an all-inclusive pack for 150 EUR (excl. tax).
    To apply, please send a cover letter including a presentation of your company and recent works, your involvement in the European film industry through past co-productions and/or participation to other co-production markets, and your motivation for attending Les Arcs Coproduction Village 2016 to village-copro@lesarcs-filmfest.com with emmanuelledory@ace-producers.com in copy.
    Applications must be sent before October 31st.

    The 73rd Venice International Film Festival begins next week, running from August 31st to September 10th, 2016 at the Venice Lido.

    Sarajevo Awards Ceremony 2016

    Congratulations to our ACE producers  for the success of their films at Sarajevo!

    ALBÜM  by Mehmet Can Mertoglu, co -produced by Cédomir Kolar (ACE, France),  was awarded the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Feature Film.

    GODLESS by Ralitza Petrova, produced by Eva Jakobsen (ACE, Denmark) won the Special Jury prize and Best Actress for the performance of lead actress Irena Ivanova.

    GOLDEN GLOBE WINS FOR ACE FILMS

    ACE is thrilled to announce the oustanding performances of its members at the Golden Globes award ceremony !

    Room, directed by Lenny Abrahamson and produced by Ed Guiney (ACE 5, IE) was nominated in 3 categories (Best Actress, Best Film and Best Director ) and Brie Larson was awarded Best Actress. Well done Ed!

    Son of Saul, directed by Laszlo Nemes and produced by Gábor Sipos, ACE 19 (HU), won the Golden Globes category ‘Best Foreign Language Film.’ This was also the first Golden Globes win for Hungary. Congratulations, Gábor!

    The 7th edition of les Arcs European Film Festival will take place from the 12th to 19th December 2015 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice/ Les Arcs (Savoie).  ACE is pleased to announce that among the official selections, 16 films have been produced or co-produced by ACE members.     The 68th edition of the Locarno Film Festival begins today, running until the 15th of August. 11 projects from ACE members have been selected for screening (see below).
    ACE will be present at the festival from Saturday 8th until Wednesday the 12th of August, and as a partner of Locarno’s co-production lab ‘Open Doors,’ ACE is very happy to be co-hosting the following event:

    Les Arcs European Film Festival, a major event for promotion, development and distribution of European cinema, has just launched its call for projects for its annual co-production platform, the Co-production Village. The Co-production Village will host around 25 European project representatives, who will have the chance to meet potential partners among 250 industry professionals, including co-producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, and so on.

    The Arcs has also launched a call for the Work-in-Progress sessions, which will be held on the morning of Sunday 13th of December. These sessions will introduce 10 European films in post-production with a similar aim of professional partnership.

    ACE AT THE GALWAY FILM FLEADH 2015

    SEMINAR

    For the Galway Film Fleadh in 2015, ACE was pleased to host 89 producers from 23 different countries for its annual seminar, focussing this year on regional European funding.  The panel, which was moderated by ACE President Simon Perry, brought together Angelica Cantisani of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte (Italy) and co-ordinator of the European Film Commission Network, Fabian Gasmia of Detailfilm Hamburg   (Germany), and Roel van der Weijer of Rinkel Film in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

It was the chance to better understand the politics and expectations of the Nordic funds, in particular Film i Väst who has been one of ACE’s most supportive partners since over a decade.

    lesarcs14The 6th edition of les Arcs European Film Festival will take place from 13th to 20th December 2014 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice / Les Arcs (Savoie).  ACE is really happy to announce that among the official selections, 16 films have been produced or co-produced by ACE members. And at the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village, 8 projects and 3 works-in-progress are run by ACE producers, with 2 projects which were developed in last year’s ACE 23 workshop.     COPRODUCTIONS VILLAGE 2014 - LES ARCS: CALL FOR PROJECTS - LAST DAYS!

    Held from the 13th to the 20th of December 2014, the Coproduction Village market will host about 25 European project representatives to have the opportunity to meet potential partners among 250 professionals (co-producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, regional funds…).
    A second call for the Work in Progress sessions (10 European films in postproduction) is also still open.

    Congratulation to the 11 ACE producers whose films received awards at Locarno and Sarajevo this month!

    In the Concorso Cineasti Del Presente selection, LOS HONGOS by Oscar Ruiz Navia, co-produced by Titus Kreyenberg (ACE, Germany) received the Ciné+ Special Jury Prize.

    Also, in competition of the Pardi Di Domani selection, ABANDONED GOODS by Pia Borg and Edward Lawrenson, produced by Kate Ogborn (ACE, UK) and Lisa Marie Russo (ACE, UK), received the Pardino d’oro for the best international short film – Premio SRG SSR.

    At Open Doors, I AM NOT A WITCH by Rungano Nyonin, co-produced by Juliette Grandmont (ACE, France) received a grant of 20 000 CHF, as well as the Prix ARTE International Open Doors.

    In the Feature Films section, MACONDO by Sudabeh Mortezai, produced by Oliver Neumann (ACE, Austria) received the CICAE AWARD, while THREE WINDOWS AND A HANGING by Isa Qosja, co-produced by Nicole Gerhards (ACE, Germany) was awarded with the CINEUROPA PRIZE.

    In the Short Films section, THE CHICKEN by Una Gunjak, co-produced by Siniša Juričić (ACE, Croatia) won the HEART OF SARAJEVO FOR BEST SHORT FILM award. THE EXECUTION by Petra Szőcs, co-produced by Gábor Sipos (ACE, Hungary) received the SPECIAL JURY MENTION.

    At the Cinelink Co-Production market, the project HILAL, FEZA AND OTHER PLANETS by Kutluğ Ataman, produced by Fabian Gasmia (ACE, Germany), received the ARTE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CINELINK AWARD.

    And parallel to the festival, the ASSOCIATION OF FILMMAKERS IN B&H awarded AN EPISODE IN THE LIFE OF AN IRON PICKER by Danis Tanović, produced by Amra Bakšić Čamo (ACE, Bosnia & Herzegovina) and Čedomir Kolar (ACE, France) the “IVICA MATIĆ” AWARD.
