“CO-PRODUCING WITH SWITZERLAND”, a meeting to boost co-productions between Europe and Switzerland and to intensify the networking between Swiss and European producers!

Three case studies, in the presence of the co-producers of the films, will put the strengths and weaknesses of co-production with Switzerland into perspective, as much from the viewpoint of the rules followed in each co-producing country as of the connections between such national rules and the European mechanisms of co-productions.
The case studies will also serve to illustrate the circulation of Swiss co-productions in Europe.

Nicolas Bideau,
Head of Film Dept. / Federal Office for Culture
Olivier Müller,
Head of Selective Funding / Federal Office for Culture

ACE PRODUCERS IN CZECH REPUBLIC – March 2009

prague1.png

A week ago, ACE held its traditional ACE PRODUCERS’ ANNUAL REUNION in Prague (Czech Republic), thanks to the support of the MINISTRY OF CULTURE OF CZECH REPUBLIC.

prague2.png

This event brought together the  ACE 18 producers and, for the first time, the non-EU new members of ACE, the six ACE IPA producers. Together with 40 other ACE producers they attended screenings, case studies and a Co-production Forum with 30 Czech professionals. This focus on Czech Republic allowed ACE producers to make fruitful contacts with their Czech peers and to discover their talents and all the assets of the Czech cinematographic industry, and especially the famous Barrandov Studios.

prague3.png

ACE also wishes to thank the Barrandov Studios, the Association of Audiovisual Producers (APA), the Avion Post-Production Studios, the FAMU Film School, Axman Productions (Karla Stojakova, ACE producer), Negativ Films (Pavel Strnad, ACE producer) and the MEDIA Desk Czech Republic.
